Dr. Vilkoite’s Digestive Health Clinic is open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Dr. Vilkoite’s Digestive Health Clinic is located at Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 118, opposite the BA School of Business and Finance and next to the Skanste district. The entrance to the clinic is on the ground floor, on the K. Valdemāra iela side.

The clinic is easy to reach by public transport or by car.

Trolleybus No. 3 stops at “Ierēdņu iela” on Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela, a 3-minute walk from the clinic. Tram No. 11 stops at “Brasas stacija” on Miera iela, a 7-minute walk away.

Yes – there is a EuroPark car park at the clinic entrance, where our patients can park free of charge for up to two hours. Just give your vehicle registration number at reception.

Dr. Vilkoite’s Digestive Health Clinic provides an accessible environment for all our patients and visitors.

People using wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can move around the clinic with ease – all of the clinic’s entrance and exit doors are threshold-free and level with the common areas and hallway. The clinic also has toilets adapted for people with mobility impairments.

People with limited mobility can reach the clinic using the ramp at the building’s main entrance on the K. Valdemāra iela side.

The clinic’s internal navigation system is also available in Braille.

• On the day before the examination, patients may eat easily digestible foods, preferably by 6:00 p.m. After that, only clear fluids are allowed.
• Regularly taken medications should be taken no later than 6 hours before the examination, with a small sip of water.
• Fluid intake must also be stopped two hours before the examination.
• Consult your family doctor or cardiologist regarding the discontinuation of blood-thinning medications.

The day before a colonoscopy, bowel preparation is performed using special medications prescribed by your doctor. A well-cleansed bowel is essential for a high-quality examination and an accurate diagnosis.

Recommendations during bowel preparation:

• Drink the solution slowly, in small sips, following the schedule prescribed by your doctor.
• To reduce the unpleasant taste, you may use a straw or drink the solution very cold.
• If necessary, you may use fresh lemon juice to improve the taste.
• If you experience discomfort or nausea, stop drinking for 20–30 minutes.
• If necessary, consult your doctor or nurse.

Before the procedure

• A colonoscopy is performed under short-term anaesthesia to ensure complete comfort.
• You must not drive for 12 hours after the procedure, so it is recommended that a family member or friend accompany you.
• You must bring a referral from your family doctor or specialist, as well as a valid ID (passport or ID card).
• Do not eat solid food or drink coloured liquids (juices, coffee with milk, etc.) before the examination.

When coming to the clinic, wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Leave jewellery, watches, and other valuables at home. You may bring personal hygiene items and wet wipes. Arrive at the clinic at the scheduled time to allow sufficient time for registration and preparation.
